Lubok Antu trip and my Rh. Melayu Ili longhouse at Betong

The trip was on 30-31 October 2010. We started our journey from home at 3.30 am. It took 3 hours from Bintulu to Sibu, and another to 2 hours 30 mins to reach our long house at Rh. Melayu Ili in Betong. From Betong, left another 40 mins to reach Lubok Antu. Enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery too.

Ngagai pegung using boat. Yeay!!!
Fresh talapia fish for sale. Can get it as low as RM 10/kg. Kalau kat market can reach RM 15/kg wai...
Maia ba pegung, at the dam itself. Sempat bergambar. Hehe..

Lepaking sambil nganti ikan di pansai ba pegung
The Lubok Antu Dam as background.
Gambar ba atas tu ba pengkalan penatai kitai ba Lubok Antu Dam.

This picture was taken at the Lubok Antu market/town, morning.. For me LA is a very beautiful and classy town, also a bit like cowboy town. Got varieties of  'lauk menua' here, and food lover like me, sure love this place.

What we have here? Petai, sayur midin, belimbing panjai/masam. Phew!! All are the appetizers..
Iban called these as buah kepayang (in the plate) and daun sabung (the leaves).

Up & down: Salai lajung or lais & salai talapia. And also kasam ikan jelawat. All sedap2.. (delicious).

What we can see below is my long house at Betong. Its my mum's side long house.
One day I'll show you my dad's long house lah ok.
This what we call tanju. Nama glamour- varandah. Haha!
I can smell MONEY!! Getah/rubber now at least RM 8/kg. 1 slice can up to 5kg.
How much we have here? 9 slices x  5kg x  RM 8 = RM 360, on the tanju!! TI bagas, one month can up to RM 3000 ++....
and NO INCOME TAX!! Yeah!!

TAJAU
Barang lama ti agi dikembuan kami sebilik ari peturun suba-suba.
Dalam bilik @ ruang tamu.
Pemandangan ba ruai.

Naka tu aja meh au. Ila ku nulis baru..
God bless. *peace

Skin care: 5 tips for healthy skin

1. Protect yourself from the sun

The most important way to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, freckles, age spots and rough, dry skin. Sun exposure can also cause more-serious problems, such as skin cancer. For the most complete sun protection:

Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. & 4 p.m. This is when the sun's rays are the strongest. Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Use sunscreen when you're in the sun. Apply generous amounts of sunscreen 30 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every two hours, after heavy sweating or after being in water.

2. Don't smoke
Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow. This depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, that are important to skin health. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — fibers that give your skin its strength and elasticity. In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking — such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke — may contribute to wrinkles.
If you smoke, the best way to protect your skin is to quit. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.
3. Treat your skin gently
Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin, so keep it gentle.
Limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water. Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers. Shave carefully. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it. Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin. Moisturize dry skin. Find a moisturizer that fits your skin type and makes your skin look and feel soft.

4. Eat a healthy diet
A healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. The association between diet and acne isn't clear — but research suggests that a diet rich in vitamin C and low in fats and carbohydrates may promote younger looking skin.
5. Manage stress
Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin — and a healthy state of mind — takes steps to manage your stress. Set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results may be more dramatic than you expect.
6. Eat tomatoes.
The use of tomato for skin care is ideal because of its cooling and astringent properties. It is rich in vitamin C making it helpful for acne and brightening dull skin and contains vitamin A needed for building healthy skin. Its naturally acidic properties help it balance the skin and get rid of excessive oil. The antioxidants in tomatoes make them free radical fighters.

Joke of the month

I got this joke from one of my friend's post on his Facebook wall. Just want to share it with you all my dear readers.

"I was in the restaurant yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my gas with the beat of the music. After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my coffee, and noticed that everybody was staring at me....
Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod."

How was the story? Funny rite? Hehe.
Hope I did make your day. Smile~

Happy Easter

Apu... lama ndar aku dah nda update blog ku. And now, its April. Nda berasai mai ari jampat berlalu.
Today is Easter Day. And I wanna wish all my Christian friends a Blessed Easter.

This time, I want to share some about Easter k.
Easter . is the central religious feast in the Christian liturgical year. According to Christian scripture, Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. Some Christians celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day or Easter Sunday (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday), two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday.
Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or the Easter Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days until Pentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. Easter also marks the end of Lent, a season of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Happy Easter once again my dear readers.

Dua bulan agi, Gawai ga kitai. Teehehe~
Peace~
